The largest lake in the Balkan Peninsula and a national park. It is 50 km long and 14 km wide but its size is not always the same. It has indented coastline with many gulfs and fishing villages. There are a lot of islands popularly called ‘gorice’.

There is rich vegetation in lake and around it, especially meadows of water lilies in summer. Skadar Lake has rich history and culture that was testified by numerous archaeological locations, monasteries and churches, fortresses and national architecture (fishing villages, old bridges, mills and wells).
